Here's my guess Written by LouAnn (10/13/2012 10:05 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Ch. 31, penned by Stephanie

I don't know if Eliza would be in a debtor's prison or a spunging house. But Colonel Brandon might have been thinking of Elinor's feelings, so instead of saying 'debtor's prison' he might have softened it to 'spunging house.' Just a guess.
