I think it may have been a blend of coincidence Written by Ramya (10/11/2012 8:44 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, How to Plan a Meeting with the Middletons, penned by BarbaraB

and opportunism. Lucy probably accidentally come across Sir John and Mrs. Jennings, but once she realized who they were, she could easily manipulate them into inviting her and her sister over for a visit. I am not entirely convinced that they are third cousins. I don't see how the meaning "disclosed" would fit in this situation.
