Well yes I think that she might not know of his general selfishness. or she might have a general idea, but not care. He's a good looking charming man and problaby well out of her league in terms of looks and charm. And I think she wants to be married and have her own establishment. Since she has more money than him, she can have much more of a "whip hand" with a good settlement... than with a richer man.. and she might not, if she's no beauty, have that much chance of a richer husband.
