Love is blind   Written by Jasmine D (9/26/2012 12:27 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Is Marianne being led astray?, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

Marianne seems to illustrate that saying. She only sees the good of Willoughby.

This is the second time I have read S&S. The first time, I think I fell for Willoughby's charms. I thought his romance with Marianne was sweet and perfect. I rooted for them to get together. Willoughby seemed to be the perfect match for Marianne - he was everything she wanted.

Now, as I reread it, I see what a negative influence Willoughby is on Marianne. I was particularly struck by how she willingly joined in his criticism of Col. Brandon. Her infatuation over Willoughby has made her blind to the feelings of others.
