I certainly do agree. That's why I brought up the passage earlier where Marianne feels respect for Brandon after he has listened attentively to her playing---"the compliment of attention." Now she follows Willoughby's lead in slighting the Colonel. "That is exactly what I think of him" always gives me chills because it shows how strong Willoughby's influence already is with her, and how much for the worse.
