Colonel Brandon and Sir John's friendship Written by Barbara (9/24/2012 1:40 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Chapter 7: Enter the Colonel (long), penned by Mary Anne

I do also wonder how they became friends--not just a friend but a particular friend. Delaford is in the area--but still far enough away that Colonel Brandon stays over at Barton Park.

Sir John is about 5 years older than Colonel Brandon, so it is unlikely that they would have known each other from having been at school together.

I always find this comment of Sir John's in Ch. 13 intriguing: "There is no persuading you to change your mind, Brandon, I know of old," said Sir John, "when once you are determined on anything."
