unrealistic   Written by amytat (9/22/2012 5:18 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Not very realistic, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

Clearly it’s unrealistic financially. I guess I was wondering if it’s also unrealistic because she has no right to be doing it in the first place. The author shows a number of times that it’s financially unrealistic (in the text you quote) but doesn’t seem to poke fun at her for the presumption of making plans for a house she doesn’t own. So I wondered if that’s so obviously silly it doesn’t need to be pointed out or if it would have been seen differently at the time.

Somehow it seems different to me to talk/dream about what you’re going to do when you can afford it (even if realistically you’ll never have that kind of money) and to talk/dream of making changes you have no right to make.
