It's not the narrator's opinion Written by Barbara (9/19/2012 11:55 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, But that was the narrator's opinion, at the beginning, penned by Graciela

When comments like this are made, we are meant to understand that it is through the perspective of the characters, generally Elinor and sometimes her mother and sisters.

The comments I quoted are showing what the Dashwoods felt about her, not the narrator.
