Are you new?

I believe he invited them for their society which he loss when his sister died. I don't think he was expecting much more. However, the constant attention of Mr. and Mrs Dashwood to his wishes, which proceeded not merely from interest, but from the goodness of heart, gave him every degree of solid comfort which age could receive, and the cheerfulness of the children added to the relish to his existence.
