Did he expect John to care for them   Written by Elbč (9/19/2012 1:17 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Mostly agree and I am wondering about something, penned by BarbaraB
Are you new?

Is it possible that he took it for granted the John Dashwood would care for his sisters very well after his father passed away and that in his mind, leaving his estate to little Henry was to provide for the girls as well? Even so, he did not bother to give the girl's future well-being much thought.
