Eldest child?

Maybe it had something to do with Elinor being the eldest child. She had to look out for her younger sisters. Sort of like Jane and Elizabeth Bennet.

I happen to be the eldest child in my family. And I identify almost completely with Elinor: I definitely err on the side of sense over sensibility.
