Are you new?

1. I think there are quite a few patterns of this sort woven into the structure of the novel, whereby an event or situation is almost mirrored by a somewhat similar one elsewhere. I touched on this in my "Intricacies" post, but have not taken the idea further yet.

2. All that galloping about keeps the pace up, though I don't think JA uses this particular technique again in her more mature work.

3. We don't have to wait for the next S&S GR - we can keep right on talking on the S&S board. Having said that, I suspect many people will feel in need of a little space to gather their wits - it's been a pretty intensive six weeks. See you anon at S&S. ;-)
