In the first place, I don't understand why anyone would just say that Eliza is at fault. The implication is that only she and her guardian would own the blame. There has been interesting long discussions about that very point.

And morality has nothing to do with out-of-wedlock pregnancies. It's comforting to believe that certain behavior or beliefs can prevent difficult circumstances, but those type of things do happen to "good" persons. And an unplanned pregnancy happens in all sorts of families, even to moral young women. Pregnancy has nothing to do with marriage actually.
