Thanks   Written by Karen G (10/23/2009 10:55 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, My take, penned by Nina RG
Are you new?

On first read, I thought that the "first positive resolution of not marrying till everything was ready" meant that because of the family's distress at such a resolution, they prodded the workmen to finish everything up so that the cottage was ready when they were married by Michaelmas. But I like your take, Nina! Makes more sense to me now.
