Also, the audiobooks of JA's novels are WONDERFUL!   Written by Cathy Allen (10/22/2009 10:52 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, "...meant to be read aloud and shared ...", penned by Cathy Allen
Are you new?

Speaking of reading JA aloud, I very HIGHLY recommend the audiobooks! I am lucky enough to now have all six, and I listen to them as I drive. I don't have a long commute, but I just listen whenever I'm driving anywhere. It takes me about a week to get through one CD. Most of mine are read by Juliet Stevenson (Mrs. Elton in Emma 2). She is such a good actress that you get past the "Mrs. E." voice quickly, and she differentiates the characters' voices beautifully.

The S&S one is very good, of course, and Miss Stevenson amazes me with her versatility. I especially noticed it in the last chapter; not sure why :-) but it's just great!

They are, IMHO, kind of expensive, but well worth it. I feel like I'm getting the best of both worlds. By being "read to," I kind of feel as if I'm watching one of the movie adaptations, imagining my favorite actors in the roles, yet it is all of JA'S story! Not a word is left out (be sure to get unabridged!), and none of the wierdness that the script writers have sometimes added to the movies is there!

On top of that, if you buy it through the Pemberley link, RoP gets a small percentage! How much better could it be?
