Well Rachel! thanks, it is nice to feel someone is on my side a bit...


I agree that Willougbhy is IMO the most attractive villain in Austen. with the others, once you have read it more than once I think that you realise that the hero is more attractive.

But I think that in S&S, the two heroes are rather stick figures, not all that attractive or interesting.. and I can never really beleive in Marianne's attachment to Brandon....so Willoughby comes across as still intriguing evne when I know his bad points....
