I've been on that roll and had to apply the brakes...   Written by Jeffrey (10/22/2009 9:17 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Getting on a roll, penned by Clellie
Are you new?

I read through all of Miss Austen's novels at a dizzying breathless pace simply because I was on a "roll." That is my type "A" behavior at its best. I sympathize because in every one of J A's works, I had little patience to admire the richness of the detail, subtle nuances, and depth of the relationship amongst the characters. That's because I simply HAD to find out what was happening next. I'm not in any way attempting to disparage your group-read experience but for me, it took discipline to stay on track. It has been a personal weakness for me to be all over the map, not wanting to submit to any sort of authority or direction. Well, to say this group-read exercise has paid dividends is an understatement. C'mon Clellie, we want you to participate again! The more the merrier.
