Lucy Steele, John Dashwood and Fanny Dashwood   Written by Divya (10/21/2009 8:10 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Do you recognise anything?., penned by Rachel G
Are you new?

I've met a Lucy Steele in real life; the scenario, without going into too much detail, was quite similar to the Lucy-Edward-Elinor situation, and I'm certain two of the three do not read Jane Austen! It was a eerie case of life imitating art. The only major differences are that the "Lucy" and "Edward" equivalents broke it off fairly soon (she found her own "Robert"), and "Edward" and "Elinor" are friends again (after an awkward hiatus).

I also have the misfortune of having a "John Dashwood" and a "Fanny Dashwood" in my extended family - they're married to each other and their dynamic is reminiscent of the one depicted in the book!
