Summarizing my first "group read" experience...   Written by Jeffrey (10/21/2009 9:16 a.m.)
Are you new?

Dear readers: this was one of the most entertaining, educational, and useful reading experiences I have ever participated in. The depth of the analysis offered here was extraordinary. What I have learned in this group read will be of continuing value to any future book I open up. Everyone reach around and give yourselves a pat on the back.

What did I miss in S & S? IMHO, I would have liked to have read more dialogue and interaction between Marianne and Col Brandon. Elinor and Edward seemed to get the lion's share of Miss Austen's attention. Ch 50 also had so much information compressed into it. I read it over-and-over-and-over!

Miss Austen's deft use of humor and irony alternately cuff the reader with a feather pillow or bludgeon them with a club.

A splendid work! It was so much more entertaining and satifying the second time through.

Am I going to participate in the next group read? ARE YOU KIDDING? I can hardly wait!
