Great summary -   Written by MarianneR (10/21/2009 4:21 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Comparing confessions. (longish), penned by nan duval
Are you new?

you pointed out that Marianne is willing to change and this is what I like with Jane Austen´s heroines. They are human beings with all their foibles (and as in Emma nearly unbearable at times), but they are maturing in the course of the novel. In the end the reader gets to forgive and love them all the more. Much more realistic than those flawless heroines who seem to be saints rather than human beings.

Thanks again for outlining Marianne´s confession.
