Would it not have broke your heart...   Written by Clellie M. (10/20/2009 11:06 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, He had to return them, I think., penned by Melissa K.
Are you new?

...to receive a package, so clearly containing your love letters and lock of hair? I think, if I had a heart like Marianne, I would be immediately hurt.

When I first learned that W. had returned Marianne's letters and lock, I naively assumed that she had spiritedly demanded them back, casting Willoughby off, and her being upset was only because of her demands being met, her fears being realized.

Alas! She has only been slighted by W. again! She opened herself up, made herself vulnerable, and was only hurt and thrown away, as a piece of rubbish. But Marianne is still able to open herself up again, and have a marriage with Col. Brandon. Even with a heart so hurt, it is still so tender as to be incapable of not loving someone so good, indeed so much exceedingly better than Willoughby.
