Actions Speak Louder than Words   Written by Kathryn Ann (10/17/2009 1:02 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, It's not what we say or feel, but what we do., penned by Barb JA
Are you new?

Even those who say the right things (i.e., Lady Middleton) don't necesarily do the right things.

I think that if one were to examine the manners of polite society at the time, people still might not do "right" by their family and friends, even if they were, technically speaking, acting acording to the norms of their station. Examples abound in this novel.

As Barb JA has said, some people - like the Colonel - do right by others. Clearly Mrs. Jennings and Sir John, as discussed elsewhere, have their hearts in the right place.
