Unfortunately I have not had much time to join the GR recently but I have been reading some of the posts, and your remark about Eliza being so foolish as to allow Willoughby to seduce her caught my eye. ;-)

I don't think we can blame Eliza for falling under Willoughby's spell - she was a young girl who was, no doubt, persuaded by Willoughby and she probably thought that Willoughby truly loved her. It is not Eliza's fault at all.
