Forgiving Willoughby   Written by Rachel G (10/10/2009 8:46 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, She shall forgive me again, and on more reasonable grounds, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

Willoughby does admit that he should have treated Eliza better and that he hurt Marianne, so I would be willing to forgive him, but only a very little. I can't go further than that because his regrets and repentance are all focused on his own suffering. He shifts as much blame as he can onto others, and I don't see any signs of significant change in him, nor any hint of real empathy, which is what I think he lacks most of all.
