Okay, I haven´t seen the connection Written by MarianneR (10/9/2009 4:37 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, On the principle of romantic love, penned by Barbara

between Edward´s situation and Col.Brandon´s past. But I wonder nevertheless, why he didn´t tell him himself. As everybody was talking about Edward and Lucy, their situation was no secret anymore. It just seems to me, as if JA needed a reason for an encounter between Elinor and Edward.
