Predators & Malicious Intent   Written by Robbin (10/9/2009 9:53 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Predators, penned by Bridget D
Are you new?

I appreciate your feelings that predatory behavior involves maliciousness and I do not dispute that it can but in my opinion that is not the essence of predatory behavior or even an essential ingredient. You describe Willoughby as choosing easily seducible girls with an eye to his own advantage but I do not see where that is different from this definition from dictionary.com: ”Living by or given to exploiting or destroying others for one's own gain”. From this I take exploitation and personal gain as the essential ingredients for a predator. This is what Willoughby does. He exploits young girls’ naivety for his pleasure. In my book this makes Willoughby a predator by definition. It does not include maliciousness, which I have yet to see in Willoughby but it does include selfishness and the lack of empathy he has displayed in word and deed. I cannot agree with you but I thank you for the interesting discussion. (:D)
