Are you new?

I'd say that Edward might have picked up hte mail from the receiving office like Jane Fairfax... or possibly Lucy just wrote to him at his home address. I doubt that Mrs Ferrars opened her son's post? I beleive that the postal service was very good, probalby because comparatively few people - just hte literate gentry and middle classes were sending letters -so I'd say that.. Mr Willoughby Combe Magna Somerset or even maybe Mr W Bond St. might well get to him....

Many years ago, when I lived in a small town where everyone knew everyone else's business, I was staying for a short while with a relative, and during that time, the postman brought my mail to her house... althoguh I hadn't put in a change of addreess -
