When John Dashwood visits to tell the girls about Edward's engagement, he's amazed and appalled at Edward's behavior when they all try to talk him out of it.
"Duty, affection, everything was disregarded. I never thought Edward so stubborn, so unfeeling, before." This is hilarious to me because of course, he's doing his duty by sticking by Lucy, (supposedly) honoring his feelings for Lucy, and of course, he's not being 'unfeeling' he's showing his feelings. At least, that's the point of view of any of the characters with real character or morality, and Mrs. Jennings tell him so in the same chapter.
"Then...he has acted like an honest man!...if he had done otherwise, I would have thought him a rascal."
