Even Marianne's letters are not all taken notice of by him till that meeting at the ball.

I can't believe that Willoghby would go running to any girl's aid on receiving a letter because she was expecting his child.

Eliza herself was low on finances. How much could she have spent on letters or searching for him, i wonder.
