This is great! (Harriet Walter is a goddess)   Written by Heather Leigh (10/8/2009 12:30 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Why is Fanny Dashwood such a nasty person?, penned by Cathy Allen
Are you new?

the account of Fanny's childhood and pre-married life is psychologically extremely persuasive!

But... what has happened to little Harry in this account? Who as a toddler captivated old Mr. Dashwood, and in whose interest the Dashwood girls are deprived of money, and whose height is compared to that of Lady Middleton's oldest son, and who goes to see the wild beasts at Exeter?

(Off-topic: Harriet Walter plays Harriet Vane in 3 BBC adaptations of Lord Peter Wimsey novels (Strong Poison, Have His Carcase, and Gaudy Night). She is perfect in that role. Such a good actress.)
