Even though I don't agree, I do ...   Written by Reeba (10/8/2009 11:08 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Predators, penned by Bridget D
Are you new?

appreciate your efforts in justifying the blame to be laid at both doors. :-)

I had decided not to say anymore, but the topic seems to live on and is interesting.

In all this discussion the one point not brought in is that there is now a child, a living breathing entity, which is dependent on a father to give it respectability.

Willoughby has destroyed not one but two lives.
He is well aware by now that he has a child.
I for one think he's the worst kind of villain there can be. The worst in Austendom at least.

If he wasn't to be wholly blamed earlier he can be judged now and blamed completely for it, because his response and behaviour *now* reflects his thoughts/position/attitude *then*.

From his position of absolute safety he knew he wouldn't take on the burden of any responsibilty.
Not even make her his mistress it seems.

Eliza was influenced by her love and his promises.
She let her heart rule her head, while it was Willoughby's head all the time.
Foolish of her is all I can say.
She is now bearing the burden of her reponsibility.

Under these circumstances I am not going to go after Eliza. It is Willoughby that I'm after with a great desire to punish him somehow, and feel helpless that I can't. *saying this while thirsting for his blood*
LOL!! :-D

A predator is one who hunts stealthily for its prey (with his head). In this case the prey is *for his pleasure* under the complete knowledge of his own superior position.
