I dont know where W woudl fit on the continuum... I agree that John and Fanny are cold hearted and unpleasant and probably dont do anytihng worse than "sins of omission" ie NOT helpign the girls or coughing up any money, becauase they have no attraction towards such faults as gambling seduction etc. So morally they are no better than him, even if he does probalby do more active harm, in such instances as seducing Eliza and leaving her with the baby, making Marianne fall in love wiht him and then cutting her....
