Cottages -- !!!   Written by Cathy Allen (10/5/2009 7:50 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Robert Ferrars is excessively fond of cottages, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

There are cottages, and there are COTTAGES! I watched the new Ken Burns series on the American National Parks last week on PBS, and one of parks I had never heard of was Mt. Desert National Park (now called Acadia), which is on an island off the coast of the state of Maine. The extremely wealthy peoples' cottages that were shown in that episode, although built almost 100 years later, were probably similar to what the insufferable Robert Ferrars was referring to as Cottages. INDEED!

I LOVED the ...she did not think he deserved the compliment of rational opposition line! As a first-time S&S reader, I had not seen it before. It now ranks right up there with If I had ever learnt, I should have been a true proficient said by Lady Catherine in P&P!

And, the Bonomi explanation was the answer to another question I had; thanks, once again, Barbara!
