lines too. It says so much in a sentence and the brevity of it hits the nail right on the head.

Robert Ferrar's idea of a cottage was certainly not like Barton cottage. I agree he was talking about a cottage orné.
I had the opportunity of visiting a cottage Orné in Ireland built to a design by the famous Regency architect John Nash. Strangely it was called Swiss Cottage (affectionately, they say)but was nothing like it. It was built in 1812.

It was rich looking, and sophisticatedly rustic. Here's a link to a picture of it.
