He is the most fearful of giving pain, of wounding expectation, and the most incapable of being selfish of anybody I ever saw." (Ch. 35) She does not know it but Marianne’s words foreshadow Edward’s standing up to his family and keeping his engagement to Lucy against interest and pleasure. (:D)
