I think the difference...   Written by Reeba (10/4/2009 9:39 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, deliberately or negligent, penned by Bridget D
Are you new?

in understanding here is that you feel only if he were seducing to ruin would then be termed as evil and predatory but not otherwise.

While some of us think that in a society where seducing a young virgin definitely meant ruin, how can Willoughby even separate that fact from his *wanting to enjoy*.

The moment he decides that he will seduce he has also to be aware it will lead to her ruin by becoming pregnant or being talked about. This IMO is a very predatory act. He is well aware of what he's doing, he sees no barrier, no challengers, and above all a Miss Grey in his pocket or not will not stop his kind from their predatory habits.

I think I'm now repeating myself and so this is my last word on it (hopefully) :-)
