Willoughby John D and Fanny   Written by Bridget D (10/4/2009 9:02 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, A predator, Or "just" selfish?, penned by Heather Leigh
Are you new?

Heather that is a very good question.. IMO they are "wicked", in their way... John and Fanny talk themselves out of any obligatton to help Mrs D and the girls...leaving them impoverished and iwht less chances of finding a husband. John neglects his moral obligation to look after his sisters in other ways, and so (thanks partly to Mrs D being too high midned) he leaves Marianne in a position where she is fooled by Willoughby....

However W's seducition of young Eliza and then leaving her and her child go a bit further in direct bad behaviour than John and Fanny who mostly commit "sins of omission"
