But is he "looking for a vulernable young girl who'll be his next victim?" or is it just that he is a selfish young man who likes sex and does not care if in getting it, he "ruins" a girl? I agree with Heather... I dont think that Willoughby is going around deliberately seeking for girls who are particularly vulnerable but he is out for his own pleasures - I don't think that he gains any speical pleasure out of knowing that this girl or that one is particularly vulnerable. I dont think, as I've said before, that Miss Grey is a vulnerable young girl...

I dont see Willoughby as an absolute monster, while I agre he is a bad lot. I think that he is selfish and weak but I dont feel that he "targetted" Marainne becuase she had no father and a mother who neglected her maternal duty to ensure that her daughter was properly chaperoned and looked after. But he did take advantage of the situation that she was so ready to fall in love wiht him. Just as he took advantage of the sitaution that Eliza II was not being chaperoned by her friend's family and was "roving all over town" and was ready to sleep iwth him
