Eliza's life of sin   Written by Bridget D (10/4/2009 5:10 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, A life of sin, penned by Barbara
Are you new?

given that she would have had very little money (she ended up in a sponging house) I would assume that most of her lovers paid her for her favours- she wasn't like a married lady who took several lovers just for fun after she and her husband had done their duty and provided an heir and spare... So in essence, she would have been IMO a prostitute....In general, a woman in her positon, divorced with no money and problaby no marketable skills and a disgraced reputation, would have had no option but to become some kind of kept woman
