Walnut trees   Written by Rachel G (10/4/2009 4:19 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Ye well-known trees: Who will remain to enjoy you?, penned by Robbin
Are you new?

The felling of the old walnut trees gives me particular pain when I reflect that the Common or English Walnut, Juglans regia, is noted as a slow-growing species, but is capable of reaching a majestic 100 ft. in maturity.

Pure vandalism! I feel as though I'm channelling Fanny Price here.

Walnut wood is of very good quality and makes beautiful veneers. I suppose that that John Dashwood made sure that he got the best possible price for it.
