...when the end result is the same? Either way, the young girl's life is ruined. While it would certainly make the man more evil if part of his enjoyment was gained in the knowledge that he ruined someone, for the girl who was left abandoned, I don't know if it would materially make much difference to her that she was so inconequential to him that he didn't care that he ruined her, or whether he always meant to ruin her.

Negligence may not be as criminal as premeditation, but it's still criminal.
