Lucy Steele has her moments. Actually, every appearance she makes counts as a moment in my book. She is deliciously flawed. But the one I'm thinking of now is where she reprimands her sister at the end of chapter 32. We are not given the exact words, but the effect is very telling in the relationship between the Steele sisters: Lucy's sharp reprimand ... though it did not give much sweetness to the manners of one sister, was of advantage in governing those of the other.
"was of advantage"
I love this understatement!
Understatedly,
