Misguided, Stupid & Manipulative   Written by Robbin (9/30/2009 2:26 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, Parallels, penned by Barb JA
Are you new?

I also view Marianne’s misguided sensibilities as akin to the Miss Steels and Lady Middleton’s “heightening alarm, where there is nothing to be alarmed at in reality” (Ch. 21) which I feel is the result of acting on poor principles. Marianne misguidedly chooses to depend on her sensibility and romanticism to guide her behavior which results in overreactions although she has another, better example and encouragement in Elinor. Lady Middleton over-pampers Annamaria into overreacting because she feels it is appropriate and her joy while the Steele sisters do so merely to gain favor with her by manipulation. Lady Middleton is too stupid to see the consequences of her actions to her child and to the Miss Steeles it is probably no consideration at all. (:D)
