I want to believe, like you,   Written by Elbč (9/29/2009 1:42 p.m.) in consequence of the missive, About all we can surmise is that there was a "Duel.", penned by Jeffrey
Are you new?

that whatever weapons they used, that Colonel Brandon won (either by disarming Willoughby or Willoughby missed) and CB spared Willoughby's life, but I suppose it will never be known (I picture it going off as in the first episode of Hornblower: An even chance :) - Willoughby scared, fires too soon, but misses. CB can fire at leisure, but lets him off).

The reason I think CB would have won, is the fact that he is a trained soldier...

A question - is it the challenge letter which first brought the affair to Mrs Smith's attention? How could she have known of it?
