Thanks for the enjoyable post.

Which came first the chicken or the egg? I don't really know, and I guess that maybe Austen wanted us to decide for ourselves not giving us exact words to go on.

Perhaps this fits in with Heather Leigh's discussion of narcissism, and perhaps some mutual narcissism at that. They're engaging in joyful flattery of each other. : )
