Three unprotected women in less than a year   Written by Barbara (9/29/2009 1:22 a.m.) in consequence of the missive, Would Willoughby have been so lax with the rules ..., penned by Cathy Allen
Are you new?

It certainly seems to be his pattern.

Miss Grey, also, has no father because she has guardians--Mr. & Mrs. Ellison. So, along with Eliza--who has no father and was away from her guardian, and Marianne who has no father and whose brother is no protector, that makes 3 unprotected females (that we know about) that Willoughby has gone after between February and September of the same year.

Willoughby doesn't seem to have ever gotten involved with any other young ladies in the vicinty of Allenham, despite going to the dances and other social events. Perhaps they had a male relative looking out for them?
