When their mother dies, the girls will each have a little over 3,000 pounds, which isn't a great marriage portion given their former status at Norland, but isn't nothing. Their father left 7,000,and the uncle left them each one thousand. This is assuming that Mrs. Dashwood will only spend the interest off the 7,000 and not touch the capital.
