Elinor doesn't actually dislike Mrs Jennings, but she doesn't enjoy her company all that much, either -- in Chapter 11 we read that Elinor felt that "Neither Lady Middleton nor Mrs. Jennings could supply to her the conversation she missed ... ." And Elinor is realistic about Mrs Jennings's background, and what being in her house (& visiting w/ her friends) might mean as far as their London social life is concerned.

But the bottom line was that Elinor did not want to go to London. She did not want to see Lucy again, and she especially did not want to risk seeing Edward.
