I noticed that too! So, Charlotte and Mr. Palmer have only been married about 7 or 8 months (March to November?) by the time they visit at Barton. There was something in a thread below comparing their marriage to the Bennets', but I don't think the Bennets' were off to such a rocky start that soon into their marriage. It's hard to imagine what the Palmers will be like in 20 plus years if it's taken them less than a year to get to this stage!
