St. Lucy   Written by BarbaraB (9/26/2009 12:09 p.m.)
Are you new?

I would like to share something I stumbled across. These are some of the descriptions and actions we get of Lucy:

Ch 21--"...she had a sharp quick eye..."

Ch 22--"not to Mr. Robert Ferrars -- I never saw him in my life; but," fixing her eyes upon Elinor, "to his elder brother." What felt Elinor at that moment?

We know that Lucy watches Elinor closely and gives her side glances to gage her reactions and feelings.

I don't recall knowing this before but St. Lucy is the Saint of eyes/sight. Hmmmmm. Is theree some major irony going on here?
